Frequently Asked Questions
Q. If I don't want an inspection visit can you still arrange for me to see properties if I'm visiting Spain?
A. We can arrange for you to still see properties whilst you are in Spain. We will sort out a one or two day viewing appointment at your convenience. We would recommend two days as we have an extensive range of properties on our books.
Q. What are the costs associated with a house purchase in Spain?
A. As a rough guide you should allow 10% of the property price to cover the costs.

Q. What do I do about appointing a solicitor to deal with my purchase?
You are free to chose any solicitor you like to deal with your house purchase, however, we can introduce you to an independent English speaking Spanish solicitor with whom we have negotiated a special discounted fee, if you should so wish. We would not recommend the appointment of a UK solicitor since most do not know the Spanish laws.
Q. Is it cheaper to buy my property direct from the developer?
No. The price you pay with us is exactly the same as the price if you went direct to the developer. By buying through Euro Homes in the Sun you benefit from a comprehensive free after sales service and assistance such as the discounted solicitor fees mentioned above.
Q. When do I pay for my property purchase?
New property - £2000 deposit immediately, after 30 days you pay 30-50% of purchase price (developers do vary) and the remaining balance is paid either in stages or on completion.
Resale property - 10% deposit and full payment required on completion usually 30-60 days later as in the UK
Q. How can I get the Euros for my Spanish Purchase?
The €uro fluctuates against sterling on a daily basis and can affect the final cost of your purchase. We recommend you speak to our currency transfer company, Global Currency Exchange. They are specialist currency brokers and will explain your options in plain English.
